AGIBOT and Chimelong Group opened the first phase of a robot deployment at Chimelong Spaceship Park in Zhuhai on 24 September 2026. More than 300 AGIBOT robots work across the park. According to AGIBOT, the delivery included the 20,000th robot to come off its production line.
The robots are spread across seven kinds of visitor-facing work. They perform martial arts, gymnastics and tai chi, play table tennis and set manipulation challenges with guests, run educational programmes and guided tours, and answer questions and give directions. They also staff hotel and companion roles, retail service points, and sports competitions. Across the site they hold multi-turn conversations with visitors. China Mobile provides a dedicated 5G-A network, and a coordination layer manages the fleet with safety protocols. The two companies also set up a joint research institute on embodied AI in culture and tourism.
The number is the story more than the venue. Twenty thousand units is a production figure, not a pilot. A park is where a general-purpose robot meets untrained members of the public, hundreds of times a day, in a space it does not control.
