AgiBot and Minth start humanoid robot production in Serbia

The first humanoid robot rolled off a production line in Sabac, western Serbia, on Saturday 29 August 2026. The plant is a joint venture between AgiBot, the Shanghai humanoid maker, and Minth Group, a Chinese car-parts supplier that already runs factories in Sabac and Loznica and employs more than 3,000 people in the country.
Minth told Global Times the first phase cost 20 million euros and covers about 3,000 square metres. The wider plan is a robotics industrial park with total investment of roughly 200 million euros, an annual capacity of up to 20,000 humanoid robots and robotic dogs combined, and about 820 jobs — 220 in Sabac and 600 in the Loznica project. The first phase covers assembly and the localisation of AI training data. Serbian president Aleksandar Vucic attended the launch and called it significant for the country.
The claim being made is geographic rather than technical: assembly moves to Europe, while the robots and the models that drive them remain Chinese. Serbia’s minister Jagoda Lazarevic framed the point as Serbia becoming a producer in the humanoid industry rather than a customer of it.
