Coway, the South Korean home-appliance company, unveiled a walking-assist wearable robot on 22 September 2026 and opened pre-consultation bookings for it. The device was developed with the robotics company WIRobotics and goes on rental from October 2026; it will not be sold outright.
The unit weighs 1.6 kg. Its main body sits around the waist and straps attach to the legs, and it is designed to be worn over everyday clothes. It offers modes for everyday walking, lower-body exercise, hiking and slow jogging, and a companion app produces walking reports that track the wearer’s condition and activity over time. Bookings are taken through Coway’s website and its door-to-door sales representatives, with two months at half the rental fee for early sign-ups. No rental price has been published.
Coway presented the launch as a step for wearable robots from medical and industrial use into daily life. The device reaches customers through a consumer rental network and home sales visits, not through a clinic or a prescription.
