DYNA Robotics launches Dyna-2.1 with an hour of unaided laundry

DYNA Robotics launched Dyna-2.1 on 29 September 2026, a system it calls a physical agent, together with Taku, a semi-humanoid robot with a 21-degree-of-freedom upper body on a mobile base. The company published an uncut one-hour recording of the robot running a laundry-room workflow without human intervention: washing, drying, folding and shelving towels, at roughly 79 steps per cycle.
The task is non-linear, so the robot has to decide what to do next rather than repeat one motion. According to DYNA, Dyna-2.1 is the first physical agent to perform hour-long workflows that combine moving around a room with dexterous manipulation.
The underlying DYNA-2 policy was pre-trained on one million hours of human video mixed with data from the company’s robot fleet. A shared representation of wrist, elbow, chest and footprint poses lets the model learn from people doing the same work. DYNA says the pre-trained model passed 87% of customer acceptance tests zero-shot, against 46% for DYNA-1, and that its stationary folding robots now reach the production bar at a new site in as little as three days, down from weeks or months.
