ONWARD Medical published its first-half 2026 results on 9 September 2026, and the numbers are the clearest running tally yet of how many people are living with its spinal cord injury technology.
Seven study participants have now received ARC-BCI therapy, which pairs a brain-computer interface with spinal cord stimulation so that a person moves their own paralysed limbs by intent. Two of those implants happened in the first half of 2026.
The implanted blood-pressure programme is further along in numbers: 22 participants are enrolled in the Empower BP pivotal study of the ARC-IM system, with 14 clinical sites recruiting out of roughly 20 planned across the United States, Canada, France, Germany, Spain and the United Kingdom. ONWARD also opened EIGER, a feasibility study of ARC-IM for restoring mobility after subacute and chronic spinal cord injury.
The commercial side is the non-invasive ARC-EX System, cleared for sale in the United States and Europe. ONWARD sold or supplied 159 units in the half, a 430% increase in units year over year, lifting ARC-EX revenue from EUR 1.0 million to EUR 3.4 million and total revenue to EUR 4.2 million. The device reached its first at-home users and the US Veterans Affairs system during the period.
