UBTech raises $139m against a 10,000-humanoid production target

UBTech Robotics raised about $139m in a post-IPO equity round on 3 September 2026, money the Hong Kong-listed company says will go to production capacity, new robot models and the AI, data and simulation work behind them. Its stated target is 10,000 full-size humanoid robots produced during 2026.
The half-year figures are what make the target legible. UBTech reported revenue of RMB 1.27bn for the first half of 2026, of which humanoid robots accounted for RMB 590m — a 1,445 per cent increase year on year, on 921 full-size units sold. The net loss was RMB 339m, 23 per cent narrower than the year before.
Read against the target, 921 units in six months is the interesting number. Reaching 10,000 in the year requires roughly ten times that rate in the second half, which is the gap this raise is meant to close.
The wider point is that humanoid robotics has begun reporting units sold rather than demonstrations performed. A shipment figure and a loss figure are both falsifiable, and neither existed in this segment two years ago.
