Weiling Medical, a Chinese company founded in 2019 to build implantable brain-computer interfaces, has closed a financing round of more than 100 million yuan, 36Kr reported on 17 August 2026. Junzhong Capital led it. The investor 36Kr identifies as the round’s core industrial backer is listed on Shanghai’s STAR Market under the ticker 688253, and earlier backers — Gaorong Capital, Life Park Venture Capital, CDH Investments and Lihe Sci-Tech — also took part.

The company says the money goes to clinical verification of its core implantable products, to the medical-device registration process, to building out a manufacturing system, and to widening clinical work in neurological function repair.

Two things are worth keeping separate. This is a private financing round and not a regulatory event: no Chinese approval attaches to it, and the registration process it funds has not concluded. And the composition of the money is itself the reportable detail — a listed manufacturer taking an industrial position in an implantable BCI is a different kind of commitment from a venture round, because it is placed by a company that would have to build the thing.
