At a ceremony in Salt Lake City on 11 August 2026, the XPRIZE Foundation named 20 Finalist Teams in XPRIZE Healthspan and awarded ten of them $1 million each as Milestone 2 Awardees, $10 million in total, along with access to clinical-testing resources.
The competition, launched in November 2023 and backed by Hevolution and Solve FSHD, sets a single target: restore muscle, cognition and immune function in adults aged 50 to 90 by at least 10 years, with an aspirational 20, within one year or less of treatment. The $101 million purse is the largest attached to ageing biology.
The ten Milestone 2 Awardees are AgelessRx, Goda Lab, Johns Hopkins-Suninflam, Longeveron, Minicircle, Mitochondrial All Stars, NYC-Vita Trial, RETRO-EPIGERNA, RPRGAON-Progeria and TIME TRAVELER–Plant-EVs. They are based in the United States, Japan, South Korea and Macao, and include university laboratories, clinical-stage companies and hospital systems.
Milestone awards are for progress against the competition’s criteria, not for restoring a decade of function. No team has done that.
